Well, we had a baptism on Saturday and the confirmation yesterday. He was referred to us by a current investigator who"s current living situation is not conducive to the baptismal interview questions. His time will come. He actually spoke on the Holy Ghost at the baptism, it was a great service. We almost overfilled the font! We only had about 4-6 inches of clearance. One of the speakers spoke longer than we anticipated and we were worrying about it throughout the whole talk. It all worked out beautifully, we are seeing miracles. It may not be all 4 baptisms we had with solid people, but even the 1 was a miracle. In the Lord's timing maybe the other 3 will make it.
The hurricane turned into a tropical depression, and now we are just supposed to get a ton of rain for a few days. There is already another hurricane forming so maybe we will get hit. The mission has plans and things, it all comes down to being prepared, just like with the second coming. It's funny though, they rate hurricanes from 1-5, you can look it up if you'd like, but the locals say if it's 4 or under they have hurricane parties at the beach. The waves are bigger and it's a lot of fun, so i hear, so we are to worried about it. We will get pulled out before and apparently they are fun. I imagine its like what we think of an earthquake, no big deal, they happen, they won't normally do any significant damage, but when they do it's bad. and that's what everyone hears about. The church has like the quickest response for this stuff, and then people get interested and baptized, so maybe its would be good to have one...
This week we got yelled at by a man, telling us we didn't believe in Christ and such. So we started to leave and he was yelling at us to go, so we wished him a nice day and as we are walking he yells "Leave" again, so we say we are going, have a wonderful... then he yells "RUN!" I couldn't help myself I just started laughing. The thing is this guy had a little tiny dog in his hands, and is telling us we are on our way to condemnation and things, but if you remember the movie The Incredibles, the mean boss at the beginning, just imagine him holding a dog, and it would be him.
I told Elder Williams later that day, then he realized why I thought it was so funny, and he completely agreed. I wish I could go take a picture of that angry little man for all of you.
These doors are always fun to knock on....
love you
-Elder Ellsworth
