10/26/2015

This week has been pretty good, there is an investigator that Elder Bischoff and I used to teach that said he is ready to  try again and he wants to talk to the Branch President. His name is Ray Gadison, he could use your prayers.  We have been working hard out here and not seeing immediate success, but we are seeing miracles. We met some families this week that we have a lot of hope  for.

I am staying positive and I know my mission isn't just about baptizing, it's to help me learn and grow. Our Mission President (and future Apostle) President Cusick trained us recently. I'm not sure if the missionaries back home are doing a four minute restoration. If not I'll do it for you when I get home. Basically you very simply and clearly teach the first lesson in four minutes and it brings the spirit uber strong! Also Missionaries are full members of the Ward Council now and President wants us to learn the handbook as well as we know Preach My Gospel and to lead the ward council by example by fulfilling our duties. We are full time, so no distractions, this is going to help us come home and lead and help our wards run effectively.

I heard Bishop Smith's been there for over 5 years, who will the next Bishop be? and how long has President Rich been there? he probably doesn't have to much longer either. Looks like a general authority will be down that way soon.

Coolest part of the week, you ready?  The Spirit is real. Last night we went over to our recent convert Jon Hall's home. His wife and he have had some serious trials recently but they are such great and faithful people. She asked for a blessing yesterday. After talking about everything that happened and whats going on (they emailed the bishop as well) we gave the blessing. I had the privilege of acting as voice. I was a little apprehensive, it's not like I've never given a blessing before, but this situation made me feel like "what can I do?" But we gave the blessing, and the spirit was there. I felt guided in what to say and how to say it and just went with it. After the blessing she thanked us, and said we were very very in tune with the spirit. She said in the blessing, I said something almost verbatim from her patriarchal blessing that she needed to be reminded of and that room felt so peaceful. I could have waited there for hours, the spirit gave me utterance when I didn't know what to say, blessings are truly from our Father in Heaven, and I'm glad I can be a tool for the Lord to deliver those sacred messages.

Also this week I watched two conference talks I want you and Brandon to watch together. From the April 1983 Elder Holland before he was an Apostle gave a talk "Within the Clasps of your arms" and his son also spoke in that same session and gave a talk "Muddy Feet and White Shirts". Both are fantastic and will be awesome, maybe for fhe. I wish I could watch them with you guys but they need me here.

I hope I'm not spending to much money. I need to be disciplined, but it's Elder William's birthday this week. so I'll do my best.
haha.

By the way your patriarchal blessings are sweet! I learned a lot, and am excited for you 😊
Elder Ellsworth
