This week was pretty eventful to say the least. The new Missionaries coming in got delayed by Delta, so they all came a day late. Needless to say they all got here, and I got my new companion, his name is Elder Hale. He is 18 fresh out of high school and from Oregon. He has a lot of potential. We have a lot of work to do, but he will be a great missionary by the end of this, and he will teach me a thing or two I'm sure,
We had a pretty easy first week for him, we had a ward luau with pig roast and all, so that was a good way to meet the ward. Sunday we both spoke in Sacrament Meeting. I was the concluding speaker and I was left with 25 minuets, that was fun...
After church we had Donnell's Baptism, we have been working with him for about a month and a half, he is amazing, and was very prepared. we had set up to have a member baptize him, but the member got sick the night before and couldn't come, Donnell said he felt strongly that I needed to confirm him, so I proposed Elder Hale Baptize him, so his 4th day in the field he baptized his first convert, Talk about a good first week haha.
My favorite experience this week though, was when we gave Donnell a blessing, he was having some serious leg pains and was struggling to walk, we watched part of the John Tanner Story (doctrine and covenant visual resources) and gave him a blessing, it was Elder Hale's first one, after the blessing Donnell got up and walked, and by the next day he had a skip in his step! It was truly amazing to see the power of his faith and the priesthood, and to be worthy to serve and see Miracles.
